Uh... Since I thought it was a pity that the Twewy sprites didn't change to reflect the threads, I decided to draw Joshy decked out in (mostly) Lapin Angelique. 8D

 Thursday afternoon I was checking IGN.com, when I came across a story about the Emmy awards nominations. The IGN story had a big list of those who are nominated. It included a link to the Emmy's website that included a full list of nominees. I decided to check it out because my uncle's friend has won a couple a technical emmys before and I wanted to see if he was nominated this year again. At the top of the list was the catergories of "Outstanding Animated Programing (for Programing Less Than One Hour)" and "Outstanding Animated Programing (for Programing One Hour Or More)".  I got pretty angry that Death Note got snubbed. What was more upsetting is the shows that where nominated instead of Death Note.

For the animated (under one hour) catergory; the shows "Creature Comforts America", "King of the Hill", "Robot Chicken", "SpongeBob SquarePants" and "The Simpsons" were nominated. If you never heard of creature comforts america, its a claymation show made by Aardman (makers of "Wallace and Gromit" and "Chicken Run") in witch they use claymation animals to act as people telling their stories (what they do is use real peoples audio interviews and animate claymation animals to make them look like that they are telling the story). That show's gimmick got real old, real quick. Basicly, that show sucks real bad. Even the people over at CBS pulled the show, then people over at Animal Planet picked up and ended up droping that show too. When I read King of the Hill was on the list, I thought "that show stoped being funny six years ago".Then I saw Robot Chicken on the list, I have no hate for that show at all and I am somewhat glad that they were nominated (what, the star wars special was pretty good). Spongebob and simpsons are more like massive question marks to me. What pissed me off that sucktastic shows like King of the Hill and Creature Comforts America were nominated over an excellent program like Death Note. The under one hour catergory only had me irked in comparison to the over one hour catergory.

For the animated (over one hour) catergory they had nominated the "Imaginationland" story arc from South Park, "Blue Harvest" a direct to dvd special of Family Guy and the direct to dvd animated movie "Justice League: The New Frontier". Let me get this straight, to direct to dvd movie/specials were nominated for the premier award for television excellence. So what they did is they showed "Blue Harvest" on Cartoon Network and release "Justice League" on pay per view for cable (it even says "Warner Bros. on Demand" on the nomination list), and now it counts as being on tv. Talk about nomination via loophole. Unbelivable, at least I give South Park credit for actually being on tv first. The last two episodes of Death Note can easily count for this catergory (hey I guess it counts because South Park was nominated for imaginationland in that manner).

You might say that the Emmys only like american animated comedys when it come to nominations in its animation catergories. But then you remember that Creatrue Conforts America was made by Aardman (British) and "Justice League" was an action movie (not a comedy). I truly believe that Death Note was snubbed. Compare Death Note next to the programs that were nominated and tell me whos show was the best written. I was also slighty shocked by the lack of a nomination for Death Note. Death Note even has a strong appeal to people who would not normally watch anime. It feels like the people who decide who get nominated for the animation catergories desided witch shows get nominated by throwing handfulls of scrabble tiles against a wall and pick names that look closest to what shows up on the floor. Then I had a thought, the "People Choice Awards".

I remembered that "Moonlight" won last years People Choice Award for best drama and so did "Jericho" the year before that for best drama. It turns out that both Jericho and Moonlight were eventualy canceled due to abysmal ratings (Moonlight was even canceled this week). That got me thinking, I think that Death Notes fanbase is much larger if not as large as Jericho and Moonlight's. What if the Death Note fans got together and campaign the Peoples Choice Awards to get Death Note the best drama Peoples Choice Award? What do you guys think about my idea? Do you think something like this is possible? Please let me know your opinons about my idea in the comments section.

Ugh, I don't think it's ever taken me this long to finish Path of Radiance. Ah well, at least I can move on to Radiant Dawn now. 

 
The next game on the docket is Radiant Dawn. I'd better get through it quickly: I'd still like to play Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Baten Kaitos, Baten Kaitos Origins, and possibly even Tales of Symphonia before I head off to university. Wish me luck!
